What This School Does Well

The college excels at helping learners gain practical skills and confidence for real careers - for example, hairdressing students develop skills to work independently in salons. Tutors are experts in their subjects and provide excellent support tailored to individual needs. The college works closely with local businesses to ensure courses teach the skills employers actually need.

Key Strengths

  • Strong quality of education with tutors who adapt teaching to meet individual learner needs, including those with SEND
  • Excellent industry partnerships providing valuable work experience and insights, such as film production and retail skills hubs
  • Effective curriculum planning based on thorough stakeholder engagement with employers and local businesses
  • Learners develop resilience, confidence and independence well, with particularly strong support for learners with high needs
  • Clear progress monitoring and targeted support through initiatives like progress mentors

Areas for Improvement

  • Behaviour and attitudes of a minority of young learners fall below college expectations at times
  • In some ESOL classes, tutors do not adapt teaching sufficiently for learners with lower levels of English, limiting their language development

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is effective - learners and apprentices feel safe, know how to report concerns, and staff take swift and appropriate action when issues are raised.

Extracurricular Activities

West London film competition, work experience with professional filmmakers, industry insights through media production partnerships
