- Effective identification and support for pupils with SEND, enabling them to learn successfully alongside their peers
- Strong phonics teaching and love of reading, with well-stocked library and regular book refreshes
- Memorable learning experiences including use of school woodlands and educational visits
- Excellent behaviour and attendance, with pupils conducting themselves well and receiving effective support when needed
Areas for Improvement
- Some pupils falling behind in reading fluency do not have enough opportunities to practise and apply new sounds
- Teachers do not always match work closely enough to what individual pupils know and can do - some pupils receive work that is too easy or too difficult
- Need to develop teachers' skills in adapting the curriculum so all pupils can build successfully on their prior learning
