- Excellent safeguarding culture with clear systems to keep pupils safe and staff who respond caringly to all children
- Strong attendance and behaviour management with consistent expectations and highly positive relationships at the heart of the school
- Early years provision is highly effective with well-sequenced curriculum and excellent teaching that prepares children well for key stage 1
- Inclusive approach to teaching with thorough support for pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils
- Leaders have successfully improved phonics, reading and handwriting outcomes
Areas for Improvement
- Spelling, punctuation and grammar outcomes remain inconsistent and need to improve further to reach above national averages
- Some checks for understanding in teaching are not consistently effective in all subjects, meaning some pupils do not build on prior knowledge as well as they could
- Governors could further strengthen the way they challenge leaders to ensure continued improvement in pupil outcomes
- Participation in enrichment activities could be improved for a small proportion of disadvantaged pupils
