Potterspury Lodge School excels at helping vulnerable pupils feel accepted, supported and ready to learn in a calm, predictable environment. Staff take time to understand each pupil's needs and work closely with families, therapists and clinical teams to provide highly personalised support. Pupils make significant improvements in behaviour and attendance, gain confidence and independence, and leave with recognised qualifications and clear aspirations for their future.

- Strong safeguarding culture with open systems where concerns are actively identified and managed
- Significant improvements in attendance and reduction in persistent absence through close family and agency support
- Highly personalised and effective support for pupils with SEND, including therapeutic and clinical expertise
- New leadership team has brought clarity, direction and improved staff morale and trust
- Excellent personal development programme including music, art, sport, enterprise and community activities
Areas for Improvement
- Curriculum adaptations for pupils are not always closely matched, which can affect how well pupils recall what they have learned
- Reading teaching systems need continued refinement and development
- Sixth-form curriculum is still at an early stage and needs to be as ambitious as other phases
- Staff training opportunities should be expanded to build confidence in teaching the curriculum and reading instruction
