- Early Years activities are not challenging enough, particularly for developing children's literacy skills

- Teachers do not consistently check that pupils follow the advice given in their marking
- Outstanding teaching in Years 5 and 6 is not being spread to other parts of the school
- Checks on teaching and learning have not been frequent enough to move teaching from good to outstanding
