Personal development and wellbeing - Expected standard. "Leaders are committed to helping pupils get the most out of school so that they are well prepared for the future."

Attendance and behaviour - Needs attention. "The low attendance for some disadvantaged pupils remains a concern for leaders."

Safeguarding standards were met.

Ofsted's next steps for the school: "Leaders should ensure that they raise pupils' levels of attendance and reduce rates of persistent absence rapidly, building on recent improvements"; "Leaders should ensure that the teaching of early writing is implemented consistently well so that pupils' writing fluency and the quality of their work improve".

From the headteacher's welcome: "It is a unique and popular school, based in the close-knit community of Brentry in North Bristol. It has around 210 pupils on role, aged between 4 and 11. It is a very special place that combines a hard-working, determined and aspirational ethos with a happy, friendly and fun atmosphere."

The school runs a breakfast club.
