Teachers are well-trained to deliver an ambitious curriculum, with particularly strong phonics teaching and maths instruction. The school brings learning to life through carefully chosen visits, visitors and real-world experiences that help pupils understand their community and the wider world.

Key Strengths

  • Strong phonics teaching and early reading support ensures most pupils learn to read quickly and well

  • Pupils are keen, confident mathematicians who enjoy challenges and readily share their problem-solving methods
  • Excellent behaviour and orderly school environment with very few incidents of poor behaviour
  • Inclusive, welcoming culture where pupils feel respected, listened to and able to be themselves

Areas for Improvement

  • Methods for checking what pupils know and remember in foundation subjects are not yet fully developed and consistent
