The school expects high standards from all pupils and they respond with excellent behaviour and real motivation to learn. Staff are caring and listen to pupils, while the curriculum is carefully designed to help children build important knowledge and skills from Reception through to Year 6.

Key Strengths

  • Excellent pupil behaviour and strong relationships between pupils and staff - pupils are respectful, motivated and rise to high expectations
  • Well-developed, ambitious curriculum with careful attention to vocabulary development across all subjects
  • Skilled teaching of phonics and reading with effective support for pupils who need extra help
  • Strong provision for pupils with special educational needs through curriculum adjustments and targeted support
  • Effective leadership with high-quality professional development for staff and good work-life balance

Areas for Improvement

  • Reading books do not always closely match the phonics sounds pupils have been taught, which limits some pupils' ability to practise and develop reading fluency
