What This School Does Well
This is a warm, welcoming school where girls genuinely enjoy coming to learn. The behaviour is exceptional and pupils show strong respect for each other and staff. The school has worked hard to improve its curriculum, with particular strengths in early reading and mathematics, where pupils achieve well by GCSE.
Key Strengths
- Exceptional behaviour and conduct - pupils are respectful, enthusiastic and respond quickly to staff guidance
- Strong sense of belonging and safety - pupils love attending school and have positive relationships with staff
- Good quality curriculum that now flows logically from early years through to Year 11 with clear learning steps
- Excellent teaching of early reading with well-trained staff and strong subject knowledge
- High achievement in mathematics with pupils confident by GCSE
Areas for Improvement
- School does not fully comply with statutory guidance on PSHE and relationships and sex education - pupils are not taught about all protected characteristics or consent
- Some recently changed subjects are not yet fully embedded in lessons, limiting pupils' deeper subject knowledge
- Early years environment and resources do not always inspire children's learning and development
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
