Abbey School exists to provide the best education possible for young people with exceptional needs."
From the headteacher's welcome: "Our Independent School provides a unique environment of high-quality, evidence-informed education, nurturing and care to young people with autism aged 4-19 whom may have additional learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge. We offer a comprehensive programme of support that ensures that all of our pupils’ individual needs are met through highly personalised learning."

What This School Does Well
Abbey School creates a happy, safe environment where pupils quickly settle and thrive. The school provides a highly personalised curriculum tailored to each child's SEND needs, with expert support from therapists to develop communication skills. Strong partnerships with parents and excellent preparation for adulthood - including work experience and community placements for older students - help pupils succeed beyond school.

- Pupils are happy, settle quickly into school routines, and trust adults to keep them safe
- Highly personalised, broad and rich curriculum matched to individual SEND needs, with seamless sequencing from early years through sixth form
- Strong focus on reading, language and communication skills supported by on-site speech and occupational therapists
- Staff respond sensitively to pupils' emotional needs, helping them manage feelings and behave well
- Excellent preparation for adulthood through work experience and community placements in the sixth form
