For September 2026 entry, 231 families put The Priory School as their first choice and 724 named it as one of their preferences, for 168 places offered. That is 1.4 first choices for every place. 66 families who put it first were not offered a place there.

Demand has been fairly steady: 226 first choices in 2021, against 231 in 2026.

Across Shropshire, 91% of families were offered their first-choice secondary school for 2026 entry, and 99% were offered one of the schools they named.

In 2025, families in Shropshire lodged 143 appeals against secondary school offers; 75 reached a hearing and 22 succeeded (29.3% of those heard).
