Downend School: admissions history

For September 2026 entry, 276 families put Downend School as their first choice and 556 named it as one of their preferences, for 229 places offered. That is 1.2 first choices for every place. 51 families who put it first were not offered a place there.

Demand has been fairly steady: 270 first choices in 2021, against 276 in 2026.

In 2025, families in South Gloucestershire lodged 196 appeals against secondary school offers; 155 reached a hearing and 36 succeeded (23.2% of those heard).
