Cobham Free School: admissions history

How many families applied, how many places there were, and how far the last place went - every year we hold.

For September 2026 entry, 93 families put Cobham Free School as their first choice and 407 named it as one of their preferences, for 60 places offered. That is 1.6 first choices for every place. 40 families who put it first were not offered a place there.

First-choice demand has fallen from 111 in 2021 to 93 in 2026, while places went from 87 to 60.

Surrey published that the last place offered for 2026 entry went to a family 1.62 km away. The cut-off moves every year with the number of applications.

Across Surrey, 81% of families were offered their first-choice secondary school for 2026 entry, and 96% were offered one of the schools they named.

In 2025, families in Surrey lodged 383 appeals against secondary school offers; 264 reached a hearing and 46 succeeded (17.4% of those heard).
